candida esophagitis results from an oral yeast infection or fungal infection that starts in the mouth and spreads down the esophagus. The infection gets its name from the yeast, candida. yeast infections, including candida in the throat, affect all ages and sexes. However, those with weak immune systems seem to be at greater risk of developing a candida throat infection.
Many of us may have not realized that yeast infections are not only infections around our private areas, but they can also form in other parts of our bodies. The infections affect both sexes and affect children. Oral candidiasis infections are most often recognized from symptoms such as burning and pain in the mouth or throat, fever and oral lesions. Some visible signs include a heavily coated or discolored tongue and cracking around the mouth. A few other signs that could point to some form of yeast infection are cravings for sugar, alcohol, bread or carbohydrates, fatigue, depression, muscle aches and joint pain.
Those who suffer from Aids, Cancer, Diabetes, Organ transplant patients, and those suffering from thyroid disorders, all have a lowered immune response to infections and suffer greater odds of developing a Candida throat infection. They are also at greater risk of developing oral thrush because of their weekend immune systems.
Treatment for those with weakened immune systems may vary and last longer than those who are healthy. When treating someone who is healthy and has developed an oral or throat yeast infection the normal protocol is the use of antifungals administered through a tablet or injection.
For someone who has suffered from a yeast infection, prevention methods are very important. The infections are very aggravating and can be painful in the mouth or throat when trying to swallow. What leads to Candida in the throat is when someone develops Candidiasis in their intestines, which then spread to other areas of the body. The intestines are the major place where the Candida organism reside and can grow out of control, leading to complications throughout the body.
A healthy immune system is very important. Treating Candida esophagitis in most cases should be routine, but things such as a hole in the esophagus, recurring infections, and if an infection spreads to another part of the body, may cause problems with treatment.
Yeast infections of any kind call for a strict diet, avoiding anything with sugar, yeast or mold such as beer, bread, and carbohydrates. Another step to try to get rid of an oral yeast infection and avoid re contamination is to disinfect your toothbrush with an alcohol or peroxide solution.
A few natural remedies that may help treat yeast infections in the mouth or throat include grape fruit seed extract, grape seed oil, gentian, caprian tea, homeopathic Candid Silicea and Artemisia. Also, implementing a daily vitamin, iron tablet and acidophilus supplement may help to prevent these dreadful infections.
For anyone who develops symptoms of Candida esophagitis, especially those with a repressed immune system, they should seek medical attention. Try to keep yourself educated on the Candida organism and how it functions within the compromised body.
